Hi people,
I’m launching a new video series—Yoga Now—with my dear yoga teacher, Carmen Prema. In this first episode we talk about how Carmen first got into yoga 35 years ago, what Integral Yoga is all about, its founder Sri Aurobindo (whose theory of consciousness and body of work I find fascinating), and the relevance of this ancient wisdom for our meta-modern times.
We also talk about what exactly can be considered yoga: pretty much anything, like writing, if it connects us to our spiritual essence.
I met Carmen in 2021 during my Yoga Teacher Training in Madeira Island, in Portugal, and ever since wanted to further collaborate with her. There’s something special in the quality of presence she radiates: the spaciousness, the depth, the beauty of her being. I hear her voice during meditation and my whole being melts, I reconnect with a sense of peace I often forget is there, always accessible.
In a western world saturated by yoga teachers and spiritual guides who don’t always practice what they preach, I feel lucky to know Carmen and the Sundari Integral Yoga School who unquestionably honor yoga’s traditional roots and offer real wisdom earned through decades of experience.
Now that I’m living in Lisbon, closer to Carmen, we’ll do more of these episodes. Some topics on the list include modern yoga v. traditional yoga, yoga principles, chakras teachings, and daoism. Please send your suggestions if you have any :)
Carmen is also offering 200h Integral Yoga Teacher Trainings in Lagoa de Albufeira, 40 minutes from Lisbon. The next offerings available are in August, October and November. If you’re interested, reach out to me. I couldn’t recommend her programs more.
And if you ever feel like joining my online yoga classes (or in person, in Lisbon), learn more here or send me a private message.
With love,
Carlota
